ABOUT
KONSTRUNDAN I BLEKINGE 2016
Planet Earth; a world shaped and coloured by its oceans & nature. A place of duality; beautiful & strong, yet in the same time also delicate & vulnerable. During the past decades our ecosystem appears to have come in a different pace. We increasingly start to see and feel the consequences of environmental destruction. Our planet suffers from global warming, pollution and unbalanced harvesting of its natural resources. Unfortunately mankind does appear to have a hand in it all. A similar evolution can be seen within creativity & design; all needs to go faster, cheaper and in bigger quantities. This is also reflected in our attitude towards environment, life and what we create. And eventually it also reflects our own mental state of mind.
Within my creativity I use one of the core principles of nature; strength in timelessness; pearl embroidery which slowly but surely grows, while "conquering" garments. Abundant yet fragile handicraft with beads of semi-precious stone, glass, metal, wood and plastic. A reflection of how all materials - good & bad, new & recycled - eventually all find their place in the total picture. We create our own reality.
In this couture embroidery collection "Garden of Eden" i combine my thoughts on environmental care, conscious living and the quest for integrating alternative production systems in our consumption society. Haute couture is my passion for the one of a kind creations; love for this planet´s pure & raw beauty is the core.
