Every year, Olofström Municipality offers residency grants at Nebbeboda School. The grant is open to people working in various artistic fields, such as literature, music, visual arts, film, theatre, dance, etc. Preference is given to artists whose work is in the spirit of Harry Martinson and/or Sven Edvin Salje.
A jury consisting of representatives from the Harry Martinson Society, the Salje Society, and Olofström Municipality has selected Halewijn Bulckaen as one of four grant recipients from a total of approximately thirty applications. The recipients are offered a two-week stay at Nebbeboda School free of charge.
"During the residency, the heartbeat of the surrounding forest and its wildlife became the quiet pulse of an evolving art project. Through an illustrated journal, poetry by Harry Martinson intertwines with personal storytelling and hand-drawn illustrations, capturing treasured encounters and moments of contemplation in this secluded woodland.
The work becomes a poetic reflection on place — a meeting between words, memory and image, shaped by the gentle rhythm of the forest." - Halewijn Bulckaen.
